Cholesterol Control and your Liver

Cholesterol control is important for anyone, but when you have health issues, high (bad) cholesterol will serve to make things more complicated and, in many cases, more dangerous.

Cirrhosis sufferers know the importance of examining closely anything that their liver will have to process.

As most people know, it’s a good idea to lower your bad cholesterol (LDL) and raise the levels of your good cholesterol (HDL).

The medicine known as Fenoglide does just this, but is not recommended for those suffering from liver cirrhosis.  Fenoglide is intended to be used in conjunction with a proper diet to produce the desired effect.

In lieu of this type of medication, you can adopt a healthy diet that has an emphasis on making your liver’s job easier.

It’s also a good idea to space your meals out so as not to overtax your liver, making it work hard on a big meal instead of spreading the work out between smaller meals.

Any way you slice it, always talk to your doctor before making changes to your lifestyle which may affect your health.
